Theatre Arts. We offer you a warm welcome to this vibrant and
versatile dance, drama and theatre arts school.

Our purpose built state of the art Studio Centre is only 10 minutes from the M11 (junction 8), Stansted Airport and a 5 minute walk from Bishop's Stortford train station and all local amenities. We offer a fun and exciting range of social, recreational and professional classes for all levels and ages with over 20 different dance styles, in addition to LAMDA, singing and musical theatre. All studios are fully equipped with mirrors, barres, Harlequin sprung floors, pianos and music systems. What is great about Jacqui Ison School of Dance & Theatre Arts is that all classes are held in one central location.

All classes are held in Bishop's Stortford - on the Hertfordshire / Essex borders – during the day, after school and at weekends with classes available from beginners to advanced / professional level. Ranging from tiny tots taking part in the new Baby Ballerinas class in their pretty leotards and skirts, Broadway Tap Babies with their fun tapping feet, children and young people learning to love the different disciplines in dance, such as Tap, Ballet, Classical Greek, Modern, Contemporary, Character, Song and Dance, Latin and Ballroom, National, Commercial Jazz, Freestyle, Hip Hop, Pilates, Irish dance, Singing, LAMDA, Speech and Musical Theatre classes, through to adults rekindling their passion and improving fitness in our relaxed adult ballet and tap classes and the Swinging Over 60s adult classes - at Jacqui Ison School of Dance & Theatre Arts we do it all!

As an ISTD approved Dance Centre in Bishop's Stortford, we also offer part time and full time Dance, Drama and Theatre Arts Performance tuition, a one year Intensive Course and a three year Diploma Course. For prospective teachers we offer the DDI and DDE Dance training courses, LAMDA and Drama teaching qualifications together with Licentiate and Fellowship Guidance.

We also offer Trinity College London courses and GCSE and AS / A2 level in Dance and Theatre Studies. Our fully qualified, CRB checked staff has the skills and knowledge to teach all ages and abilities in a safe and professional manner. Our ethos is to maintain the highest standards at all times combined with structured classes conducted with a sense of fun, enhancing the professional reputation ofJacqui Ison School of Dance & Theatre Arts.

Language, science and culture also play an important role within the School with the opportunity to travel and to learn folk traditions of different countries as well as taking part in educational themed projects. All these wonderful opportunities ultimately develop confidence and give a real sense of achievement. For many youngsters, these classes are the first steps towards a future career within the arts. We have three terms a year working towards shows, performances, festivals, competitions (at regional, national and international levels), outreach and community projects; and examinations in all disciplines with regular workshops, Easter and Summer courses and open classes during the school holidays.

The School is a community interest company therefore by taking classes and having fun you are also contributing to improving and developing dance and theatrical performance facilities and classes for the community. We also have a number of funding opportunities available for students.
